Thank you to the Middle School Art Teacher (Lorraine Dunagan) and the 8th graders for painting a work of art in the form of a U.S.A. chair! I was so surprised when they delivered it to my classroom. I am so honored to be chosen for this special gift. It brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful school we have and such a great connection between middle and high school. A sincere "thank you" from Mrs. Schmitt

Housing & Interior Design I Class just finished a complicated chapter over construction basics. The students at the end of the chapter each constructed a home sign with a special motto. A huge thank you to Mrs. Schmitt's contractor, Jason Wenthold for donating the wooden signs.

Happy Fall Y'all! Mrs. Schmitt 7th Grade F.C.S. (Family & Consumer Science) Class is having a fall party this week. Today they were prepping their treats of: mummy hotdogs, spooky spiders or dirt cups, clementine pumpkins, pretzel sticks, apple / peanut butter smiles, and witches' brooms. If they had this much fun making them think how much fun they will have eating them!

To finish our cutting methods and prep term unit; Foods I Classes made omelets. We watched two quick Jamie Oliver videos and he used garlic and squeezed juice out of a lemon. Then Mrs. Schmitt did a demonstration lab and showed the students how to fold the omelet into a French Omelet as it is sliding off the pan onto the plate. The students were very successful! Ask your student to make you an omelet at home; just to show off!!

Mrs. Schmitt's Foods I Class are learning confidence during one of their first labs of flipping an egg in the air without using a spatula. Yeah, they did it! Cooking groups cheered each other on when they were successful. Cooking labs teach you culinary skills, time management, group work, leadership skills, and employability skills of working together.
