How fun it is to start a new unit in physical education class. Mr. Rommes and Mr. Schmitt have the students learning about Omnikin ball. Today they channeled there best movie characters as they played Indiana Jones. We had our round winners pose for a picture and the class winner was Carson Laures.

4th Grade students worked on their PBL (Project-Based Learning) project creating an invention to help solve a problem that "bugs them". Due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents were not allowed to our invention gallery walk, on February 17. We created a slideshow to showcase all of the awesome 4th-grade inventions that were created! While it is routine for us to hold our own bee, there is also a district-wide Geography Bee grades 4-8 and a national level Geography Bee, both canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. Mrs. Schmitt's Advanced Foods Class had a pizza lab at the end of their pizza unit. They made a Chicago deep dish, chicken fettuccine with spinach, a vegetable loaded pizza including banana peppers and a stuffed crust pepperoni. They were all delicious! The students learned about the history of pizza, vocabulary, origin of ingredients around the world and more. Next year Mrs. Schmitt (FCS teacher) will be offering new classes including Baking and Food Production. The students plan on creating a Tribe Pizza business for the community to purchase homemade pizzas and take-and-bake food. It will be entrepreneurship at its finest!
