
5th-grade students just finished working on designing their own logos that represent each of them. Next, they are creating a list of questions would ask if they were going to design a logo for someone else!



4th graders visited the Veterans’ Memorial at the Chickasaw County courthouse this week in honor of Veterans’ Day to do a scavenger hunt and learn about the memorial.

The NHHS drama department will be performing "Anchors Aweigh" on Friday & Saturday, November 11th & 12th at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $5 each (activity passes accepted.)


The high school band will be performing during the Veteran's Day Ceremony at Courthouse tomorrow morning at 11 am.

We will not have school on Monday, November 14 due to professional development.

The Spanish III students are reading a short story book in Spanish called "Brandon Brown versus el Yucatán". They must read the Spanish, translate to English and answer questions. It can be a challenge following conversation in another language.



On Wednesday and Thursday 8th grade students need to wear close-toed shoes (no crocs) and jeans (no or minimal holes/rips) as they are touring industrial businesses. Also, they should bring a sack lunch tomorrow if they didn't sign up for a school lunch.

The varsity FB banquet will be held on Thursday, November 17th at 6:30 pm in the high school cafeteria. It will be catered by Poor Richards. Cost will be $11.50 per plate which will include Broasted Chicken, Pizza, Cole Slaw, and broasted potatoes. Cookies will be provided for dessert. Following the meal there will be a brief program to recognize team members for their accomplishments.

Jessica Rochford, Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, explained Ag By Products to our fourth graders. Then we played Agriculture Pictionary. Students guessed the Ag By Product and if it came from corn, pork, beef, or soybean




New Hampton will be charging admission for the middle school girl's BB game on November 8th versus Waukon. The following will be our guidelines.
The admittance fee is as follows: $2/per student and $3/per adult with a maximum of $5/per family. Everyone should enter through the lobby entrance that was formerly used to enter the old high school gym. Thank you.

Last week several ELP students travelled to Iowa State for the Go Further conference encouraging women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, put on by Women in Science and Engineering. They also had a chance to touch base with New Hampton Alumni Claire Quirk who is currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering and is part of the ROTC program at Iowa State University.




A huge thank you to Jill Fibikar, Susie Anderson, and Bob Savreto at First Citizens Bank who provided breakfast and gifts to New Hampton High School's inductees and current members of National Honor Society.
