This week is American Education week (November 18-22). We would like to send a special thanks each day to someone who makes a difference in education.
Today we say thank you to our Substitutes and Students. Our substitute teachers are there to help out when our teachers and staff have to be away. Your helping hand is a crucial element in keeping our school running smoothly. We also want to give a huge thank you to our students. We see our students doing great things every day, whether that’s mastering a new skill, pushing yourself to try something outside your comfort zone, or being a valuable team member to their peers. We have the BEST TRIBE there is, and we are so proud of all our students at New Hampton Schools!
A huge THANK YOU to the Iowa Beef Industry Council for a $750 Beef Grant was awarded to Mrs. Schmitt's FCS program. This helps us to use high quality beef in our Family & Consumer Science cooking labs.

Today we say thank you to our Teachers! Teachers wear many hats each and every day. Teachers are detectives as they find out what the students already know and what they need to know next. They are motivators, encouraging students to reach their potential. Teachers are management masters, as they organize both people and materials to make sure the day runs smoothly. They are mentors, as they help students guide student choices and build their character. They are communicators, making sure parents and teachers are a team in the student’s education. They are caretakers, as they help students through their highs and lows in life. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication from our teachers at New Hampton!
NICC, Allen and MercyOne partnered together for a hands-on career immersion healthcare event for 30 students from 9 different high schools! The students visited with healthcare professionals in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology and EMS. The event concluded with a career panel from some of the leadership team at MercyOne New Hampton.

The Publications staff has been hard at work on this year's 2024-2025 yearbook. Starting today, the students are competing against each other to see how many yearbooks each of them can sell by next Wednesday! Our yearly goal is 155 books sold, and we would LOVE to blow that out of the water! Below is a sneak peek of our cover, designed by the Publications staff and brought to life by the Jostens graphic design team.

Baking I Class has been extremely busy with their pie unit. Mrs. Schmitt demonstrated how to make a pie crust. The students during the week made one crust pies: a meringue pie and a creme pie - all from scratch! The students each took a picture to put into their portfolios. Their Baking Portfolios show their growth in their skills throughout the semester.
