To end our Beef Unit in Foods II the students were given a ground beef challenge. Each group was given one pound of ground beef and had to decide what they would make with it. One group made nachos and the other spaghetti with mozzarella mixed in to make it very cheesy. Both were delicious and they are learning so many new culinary skills. (Purchasing beef was made possible by a Beef Grant that Mrs. Schmitt applied for.)

3rd and 6th period Foods One did a lab just for fun to end Homecoming Week. Students rolled out the carts to cook outside making S'mores! They enjoyed it and that way students didn't set off any smoke detectors from the burning marshmallows!!

Mrs. Jessica Rochford, Ag in the Classroom Coordinator for Chickasaw County, visited the second graders in Mrs. Nuss's room. She taught them about the different breeds of dairy cattle, how milk gets to us, and about different dairy products. They made a booklet and received a recipe for homemade ice cream too. The second graders enjoyed her presentation and learned a lot!
