Tonight's baseball scrimmage-Meet the Team is POSTPONED to tomorrow (5/20) with the same schedule - 5/7 p.m. Today's practice at 4:00 p.m. with grades 10-12 at the ballpark - grades 8-9 at the elementary gym.

Mrs. Schmitt's 7th Grade FCS Class (Mrs. Feldman's Homeroom) is doing an activity about how our food is interconnected with everything else. How are animals, people, and the food supply are intertwined with each other. Each student had a card that described it on the back and then they chose what other card they would throw their ball of string to and they had to be connected in some way. It was a fun way to wrap up our Farm to Table Unit.

The 4th-grade students had a great time at "Safety Day" at the elementary school where they learned about bike safety, food safety, pet safety, electrical safety, online safety/stranger danger, and ways our body can move to help calm us down!
Thank you to the Chickasaw 4-H Extension office for helping set all of this up and thank you to our speakers for some valuable information!

Foods II Class really looked forward to our Meat Unit where they learn about beef, pork, and poultry. The students learned about the nutrition, cuts of meat, and how to prepare particular cuts of meat with certain cooking methods.
The best part is our Beef Slider Competition! Thank you to our judges: Mr. Manson, Mr. Schmitt, and Mr. Cantu on trying to choose between four sliders. It was tough competition and they are judged on appearance, taste, and uniqueness.

All of second grade enjoyed a field trip to Twin Ponds today even with a bit of rain. We learned about bats, animal traps and had fun exploring the nature center with a scavenger hunt.

Egg Unit in Foods II Class. "Everyone needs to know how to properly make a hard-boiled egg and what to do with it afterwards!" said Mrs. Schmitt. After learning about everything there is to know about eggs and hens Foods II students created dishes such as develed eggs, egg salad, eggs & potatoes, and a delicious avocado spread on toast with eggs in it.
