Iowa BIG North student Jordan Throndson and Holly O’Brien with NICC sharing their experiences coordinating and operating the second annual Iowa BIG North Opportunity Fair at the high school on December 3. We can’t thank New Hampton Rotary enough for allowing us the chance to share what we do, provide authentic public speaking moments and be of service to our communities!


Algebra students recently gathered data on a subject of their choice, made a table, created a scatter plot, drew a line of fit, wrote an equation for a line of fit, and made predictions based on their calculations. Students in the photo are critiquing each other's projects in order to offer suggestions for improvement and clarification.


The Housing & Interior Design Class was busy building a living room out of Lego's. The students presented their designs and explained the elements and principles of design, such as a focal point of the room. They did an excellent job!






The boys wrestling meet at Cresco has been cancelled today due to their school letting out early due to the weather.

The girls wrestling meet at Crestwood is cancelled for today with no reschedule.

Third Grade had another successful morning making blankets for Project Linus! This year we made 35 blankets with the donations and support of our Third Grade families. We want to thank our Third Grade families for making this special project so meaningful for the students. We also want to give a special thank you to Patty Phillips for donating extra fleece to make blankets. The blankets will be donated to local hospitals for children who will be in the hospital over the holiday season.





Third grade participated in an “Hour of Code” in the gym. They enjoyed working together.



K-4 participated in Hour of Code, where every grade level worked on their computer literacy coding for an hour in the month of December! Hour of Code is a world-wide movement to encourage millions of students to problem solve through the use of coding and computer science!






Our Gingerbread Cookies ran away!! Mrs. Knutson's Class was on a hunt for their missing Gingerbread Cookies on Tuesday! They were all over the school, but we finally caught them in our classroom - just in time for snack!





Mrs. Knutson's 4 year old Preschool Class has been reading a lot of different versions of the story "The Gingerbread Man." Last week they created their own version of the story and wanted to share it with all of you! Enjoy!

Fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Schwickerath and Mr. Pagel, volunteered ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. It was fun greeting people as they shopped at Fareway. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
