The three year olds had so much fun in December! Some highlights included: dramatic play in a Christmas home, running a hot cocoa stand, exploring with magnetic wands and jingle bells, drawing and painting Rudolph, making Play-Doh cookie cut outs, and painting with Christmas tree branches. What an exciting month for these little learners!

New Hampton Parents and Families: If you have large boxes from Amazon or other delivery services from the Holiday season, please don't get rid of them! Mrs. Bercik and the National Honor Society students can use them for their upcoming cheesecake fundraiser as well as Post Prom this spring. Feel free to drop them off at the HS or superintendent's office labeled for Mrs. Bercik, and she will gladly take them off of your hands! We'll take large boxes that are already broken down, too. Thank you!

Mrs Schmitt is
so very proud of her
Baking One Class! This students finished all of their units and the last one was candy CC making. The students found out how hard it was to make candy as one kind failed when making taffy. It was boiled to the hard crack stage instead of the softer taffy pulling consistency. You learn so much more by a failure than an easy success. Here are pictures of the three candies that turned out correctly.

I am not sure if it was more work for Mrs. Schmitt or the seventh graders to make and decorate sugar cookies! We got them done and the students took them home under the tree for Santa. I doubt if the "big man in red" got any because the students were eating them right away. We are all definitely ready for our winter break.
